Here’s the open secret: L. Charles Silva and Colette Silva are the same two people, working under two names. A husband-and-wife operation that writes together, edits each other, and argues about commas. The background they bring to it defies easy summary — technical writing, software development, ranching, logging, carnival work, bookkeeping, and a brief but educational acquaintance with missile technology. What these have in common is unclear. What they produced is fiction with an unusually wide view of how people actually behave when nobody’s watching.
The catalog has grown past that first novel — comic speculative fiction, a ring-world fantasy or two, and whatever else refused to stay unwritten. Still quality over quantity. So far, so good.
